About the Space Zone

The Hubble Space Telescope | Image: NASA

Look up at night and you will see a whole lot of space out there.

With less than 70 years of sending things into space under our belts, the future up above is almost limitless. Space technology can also help us here on Earth.

In this zone you’ll meet an engineer using satellites to find patterns in nature to work out where nature is disappearing, another testing materials for new spacecraft,  and another using satellite imagery to study the environment and write computer programs. One engineer is planning future missions to asteroids, while another is trying to figure out how the Earth works using satellite data, and helping others to do the same.
