Pizza. There is a pizza corner in the restaurant where I work. I repeat…there is…a pizza…corner!
Also seeing real satellites is cool. I recently saw one called BepiColombo in the test centre at the European Space Agency before it was shipped to the launch site in South America. It is currently on a 7 year journey to the planet Mercury!

Having the opportunity to work closely with the European Space Agency and private space industry here in Ireland and also abroad. 🙂 🙂 🙂
I also like that I have the opportunity to construct satellites and launch weather balloons!!!
At the end of March I will be carrying out space mission design in Tenerife, with the University of Southampton from the UK and the University of La Laguna from Tenerife. 🙂

The people. I get the amazing opportunity to work with and be inspired by some of the most incredible, passionate, brilliant people I could ever chance to meet. They’re from all over the world, from all walks of life, and it gives me such a thrill to work with them and apply Space to life here on Earth.

I very much like being challenged by a big assignment or complex project like measuring how many species are being lost by deforestation around the world and then using satellite imagery as a tool to map that across different parts of the world. If we didn’t have Earth Observation satellites keeping an eye one Earth like that, then we would not see the damage we are doing and monitor it. I like this aspect of my job.

The people and the feeling that I’m doing something very big. Something a lot bigger than any one person. Generally though, the thing that makes work bearable day to day is working with awesome, fun and inspiring people and I’m lucky to have that!
