• Question: Is it easy to get a job in engineering? From when you leave college.

      If we have right amount of work experience from volunteering, student work, course work etc, it is never ever difficult to get job in engineering, not just in engineering.

      Pretty easy. I took a year out after college but it only tool my two weeks from apply for jobs to getting one. Engineers are in high demand so it’s a pretty safe get that you’ll get a job. That’s actually part of why I studied engineering and not a pure science.

      When I was just finishing my BSc in Physics, I was offered an engineering internship and a job at InnaLabs (Irish Space Industry). 🙂 I did the internship but I had already got my master degree place at UCD, so I work part time for them, whenever they have work for me. 🙂 A lot of physicist end up in position of engineers in industry. 🙂 I am in my second semester of my master degree at this moment, and I have already been having interviews and being asked to apply for positions, so I would have to say space engineers, and physicist are in high demand. 🙂 🙂 🙂

      I think so but you can make it easier by:
      Doing well in your studies – be consistent and find ways to use your time effectively.
      Making a well-written CV and covering letter – be concise, give relevant information and show enthusiasm.
      Preparing for interviews – learn about the company and position you apply for.
      Above all, enjoy what you do and be confident!
